Budgets & Cost Centres
Setting budget targets and allocating transactions to cost centres for department-wise analysis.
Budgets
Open Reports → Budgets to create and view budgets. Set a budgeted amount per ledger for a period. The Budget vs. Actual report shows variance — how much you've spent vs. what was planned.
Cost Centres
Cost centres let you track income and expenses by department, project or branch — without creating separate companies. Open Masters → Cost Categories & Centres to set them up.
When posting a voucher line, you can optionally assign it to a cost centre. Reports can then show P&L by cost centre.
Cost centre allocation is optional per line. Lines without a cost centre are posted to the default "Primary" cost category.
