What Is It and When Do You Need It?

A business day is a normal working day, usually Monday to Friday without public holidays. Deliveries, payments, contracts and legal notices are often measured in business days. The number of calendar days is then longer than it looks.

This tool counts business days between two dates, or finds the date that is a number of business days away.

How to Use This Tool

  1. Choose to count between dates or to add business days.
  2. Enter the dates or the number of days.
  3. Add holidays to skip, one per line, if you have any.
  4. Press Calculate.

How the Calculation Works

The calculator steps through the calendar one day at a time. A day counts only if it is not a Saturday or Sunday and is not in the holiday list. When adding, it moves forward until the requested number of counting days is reached.

Worked Example

Starting Monday 2 November 2026 and adding 10 business days lands on Monday 16 November 2026. Between 2 November and 30 November 2026 there are 20 business days.
