What Is It and When Do You Need It?
Your age is the time that has passed since you were born, counted in calendar years, months and days. You may need it for forms, school and job applications, insurance, pension planning or just curiosity. Months have different lengths, so counting by hand is slow.
Enter a date of birth and the tool shows your exact age, plus the total days, weeks, hours and minutes you have lived.
How to Use This Tool
- Pick your date of birth with the date box.
- Optionally choose a different date to measure age on.
- Press Calculate.
- Read your age and the countdown to your next birthday.
How the Calculation Works
The calculator subtracts the birth date from the target date year by year, then month by month, borrowing the true number of days from the previous month when the day count would go negative. Total days are the difference between the two calendar day numbers. Hours and minutes are the total days times 24 and 1,440.
Worked Example
Born on 15 August 1990, on 2 November 2026 the age is 36 years, 2 months and 18 days. The total is 13,228 days, and the next birthday is 15 August 2027.
