What Is It and When Do You Need It?
A countdown turns a far-off date into a clear number. People use it for holidays, weddings, exams, product launches, pregnancy and deadlines. Seeing the days, weeks and working days left helps planning.
Pick a target date and read how long it is from today, in several units.
How to Use This Tool
- Choose the date.
- Add an event name if you like.
- Press Calculate.
- Read the days, weeks and working days.
How the Calculation Works
The calculator takes your device’s current date, converts both dates to calendar day numbers and subtracts. The months and days form is computed by calendar subtraction, and working days are counted by skipping weekends. Hours and minutes are the days times 24 and 1,440.
Worked Example
From 2 November 2026 to 25 December 2026 there are 53 days, which is 7 weeks and 4 days, or 1 month and 23 days. The date is a Friday, and 39 of the days are working days.
Common Uses
- Holiday and trip countdowns.
- Exam and project deadlines.
- Wedding and event planning.
- Waiting for a launch or delivery.
Tips and Common Mistakes
- Press the button again tomorrow to see the new count.
- Use the business days calculator to remove holidays.
- For a past date the tool shows days since.
- The countdown uses your device date, so if the date on your phone or computer is wrong, the answer will be wrong too.
