How These Cipher Tools Work
Every tool on this site runs in your browser with JavaScript. The text you enter is processed on your own device. It is not uploaded, stored or logged, and no outside service is used.
These are classic ciphers and codes for learning, puzzles, escape rooms and geocaching. They are not secure. For real secrets, use modern, well-tested encryption.
Which Tool Should I Use?
- Shift and substitution: Caesar, Atbash, affine, Vigenère and Playfair.
- Transposition and grids: the rail fence cipher and the Polybius square.
- Number and binary codes: A1Z26, the Bacon cipher and the XOR cipher.
- Alphabets and fun: the NATO alphabet, Braille, leetspeak and Pig Latin.
