What Does a DMARC Record Generator Do?

A DMARC record generator turns a few choices into a correctly written DMARC TXT record. DMARC syntax is easy to get wrong: tags must be separated by semicolons, the version must come first, and report addresses need the mailto: prefix. The form above handles those details for you.

Once your record is ready, you paste it into your DNS as a TXT record named _dmarc, and receiving mail servers will start applying it to mail sent from your domain.

    How to Use This Generator

    1. Optionally enter your domain, so the tool shows the full host name to create.
    2. Choose a policy. Start with none if you have never used DMARC.
    3. Add an email address for aggregate reports (rua).
    4. Adjust alignment and other options only if you need them.
    5. Press Copy record and paste it into your DNS panel.

    What Each Option Does

    OptionWhat it controls
Policy (p)The action requested for mail that fails DMARC: none, quarantine or reject.
Subdomain policy (sp)A separate policy for subdomains. Leave it unset to reuse the main policy.
Percent (pct)Applies the policy to only part of the failing mail. Useful for gradual roll-outs.
Aggregate reports (rua)Receives daily summaries from big mailbox providers.
Forensic reports (ruf)Receives copies of individual failures. Only a few receivers send them.
Alignment (adkim, aspf)Relaxed allows subdomains to match. Strict requires an exact domain match.
Failure options (fo)Chooses when failure reports are generated.
Report interval (ri)Requested time between aggregate reports. Receivers may ignore it.

    How to Publish the Record

    1. Open the DNS settings of your domain at your DNS provider.
    2. Add a new TXT record.
    3. Set the name to _dmarc. Some panels need the full name, _dmarc.yourdomain.com.
    4. Paste the generated value and save.
    5. Wait for the change to spread, then test it with the DMARC record validator.

Only one DMARC record may exist at that name, so edit any existing record instead of adding a second one. All tag definitions come from RFC 7489, which defines every DMARC tag.

    A Safe Roll-Out Plan

    • Weeks 1 to 4: publish p=none with a report address and read the reports.
    • Weeks 5 to 8: fix any legitimate senders that fail, using the SPF record tester and the DKIM verifier.
    • Then: move to p=quarantine with a low pct and raise it step by step.
    • Finally: use p=reject once your reports are clean.

This generator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to our server.

Why Use a DMARC Record Generator?

Writing DMARC by hand invites small errors: a missing semicolon, a report address without mailto: or tags in the wrong order. A DMARC record generator removes those mistakes and shows you the finished value instantly.

It is also a good way to learn the tags. Change one option at a time and watch how the record changes, then publish the version that fits your sending setup.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Start with none and a report address, read the reports for a few weeks, then move to quarantine and finally reject once legitimate mail passes.
No. The record is built in your browser and never leaves your device.
After the DNS change spreads, enter your domain in the DMARC checker to confirm the record is found and valid.
